Trevor Horn was pretty much responsible for the soundtrack of my 80s. He didn't just have a Synclavier or Fairlight; he had the most expensive Synclavier or Fairlight in the most expensive, shiny studio. He made pop that was both accessible and multi-layered. He introduced me to what could be done with a 12" single if you pulled those pop song layers apart and put them back together over 10 minutes. Pure genius.
