Listen! I have a lot to share with you and not much time to do it. Come with me on a little journey. It will come on a little strong. It will get a little weird. But if you are willing to give me an hour of your time, I'm confident you'll end up having enjoyed yourself.
In the end, the only thing we have that is of any true value, is time. I ask that you spend an hour of yours with me. I've spent several times that, picking out the following tracks and their order. I promise, I've taken care not to be careless with the time you have to spend here.
I've compiled a sampling of musical mashups that cross genres, mix moods, and juxtapose things that just don't feel like they have any business being together. I love this sort of creativity. Seeing familiar things in new ways just tickles me. I don't think this one hour slot is sufficient to fully explain this, so you'll have to experience it for yourself. If this interests you, you should hear what I left on the cutting room floor, for lack of time or courage.
What you will hear does alter the original, so leave your expectations at the door. The end results, while representative of the original, are something else entirely. It can be a bit challenging, especially if you know and love the originals, so you'll have to practice active listening to get the best results.
Warning: Contents under pressure. Do not fold, spindle, mutilate, concentrate or inhale. For aural application only. Do not operate heavy machinery, including Excel, Outlook or other industrial-grade productivity software, while under the influence.
Recommended dosage: For initial application it is recommended to complete the entire sequence in prescribed order. I've attempted to link these together either by artist or by theme - though on occasion my intent may not be apparent. Thereafter apply as needed.
For best results: Headphones are strongly recommended. This will help keep the ear-worms under containment. Higher volumes are recommended. Most doses are available with visual stimulants (most of these have accompanying videos, and they are generally quite good. Eschew these for the first listen as they may lead to distraction.
Side effects: may include disorientation and confusion, momentary incredulity, frowning/squinting, slack-jaw syndrome and possible drooling. On repeated use, these conditions may become permanent. In some cases, mild discomfort and resentment has been observed. Involuntary, rhythmic movements of the extremities are normal and should pass quickly.
During the ride, please keep your hands and feet attached to your body at all times. If you find that your brain is trying to resist the experience, please return it to it's fully upright and locked position or place it in "airplane mode" and stow it in the overhead compartment.
